LinusTechTips Store Review

Makkusu

Hello LinusTechTips Community,

I felt that the least I could do is share my experience with the rest of the community.  I recently purchased an item from the store right here in the forum.  I will try to convey my experience with the details that really meant something to me from this recent en devour of mine.

How I learned about the store was watching one of LinusTechTips videos where the store was mentioned.  I was curious enough to look since what got stuck in my mind was a phrase from the video 'if you want to buy gear/items on the cheap' cuz I am a cheap bastard.  I decided to buy the I7 since the price was really good and the timing was right for what I want/need but before I made up my mind I hesitated and what I did was send a ticket in asking information about the transaction.  I had my first reply in a couple of hours and I had a few more questions (that I later on answered by myself) and I got an answer for them a couple of days later (and apology and explanation why it took so long to reply was given) but by that time I had already payed for the item.  I explained what delivery method I wanted and I was directed to purchase an $X shipping from the store that was pretty close to what the UPS tool said, a few $s less in fact (this might by different for you).

A couple of days later I get a tickets response and I was told the item was to be shipped in a couple of days but I did not receive a tracking number until I requested one, knowing the size of the operation maybe I just requested it too early and maybe I am really pampered by automated systems.

The important things for me are that I received a response every time I requested information and I knew I had to be patient about it, I was able to make a 'special request' that was done and that everything that was told to me was done to the letter.  The time between responses could be improved but other than that the experience has been really positive and I understood where I was buying this from and from whom, so the time between responses really didn't matter to me but it might to other people.

Overall I am very satisfied with the experience and I would recommend the store.

A satisfied customer
