Hi everyone, rookie here.

I kind of have a prob, here's what I know

- I switched to an nvme storage and suddenly, my computer started to make error beeps at boot and then reboot and it's good to go. It doesn't occure every time though, most of the time it boots just fine.

- I don't think it's ssd related because beeps are 1 long + 2 shorts, I checked and apparently it is a graphics error code.

-  I started having some crashes after long sessions of gaming.

I took out my GPU and put it back, didn't quite solve the problem. After investigation, it has occured to me that it could potentially be a PSU issue: my PSU is 6 years-ish old  and maybe it is starting failing. Therefore it could fail providing power during high loads such as boot or long gaming sessions. Might be wrong though.

There it is guys, it's a long post but I hope you can help, maybe you had similar experiences or suggestions about what it could be ?

Thanks a lot ✌️

You said that "you switched to NVMe storage".

Did you clone your Windows boot drive or do a fresh install to it?

I did a fresh install, I heard it was way better.

Good.

Based on what you've said, it does sound like a PSU issue.

Can you give me the exact model?

I can't really because it is a french hardware store version of a seasonic PSU. Like it's seasonic but there is the brand of the store on it. It does not really have a model name.

I would replace the PSU, then.

PSU lifetime is 7-10 years, and from the sound of it, yours is dying a bit quicker than usual.

That's what I was afraid of. Better than the gpu though 👌. Is there any testing program or whatever to test the "health" of my PSU ?

Not that I'm aware of.

@jonnyGURU might know though.

Sounds like pay issue most common fault being a capacitor failing. While you are at it if you can stress test your plans check any temps you can make usee thermals are good on things like CPU, LTt has tons videos on testing temps if you need guidance, might as well play it safe what is worst enemy of machines

So what you're saying is it's an LDLC EC-500 which is based on the Seasonic ECO PLUS 500W?
