If your PSU is good, it's good.

You won't get more fps because of a better PSU.

Of course running a bad PSU is not a good idea, but you mentioned the PSU "is already sufficient".

If you already have a reliable unit, unless you need more watts for an upgrade no. PSUs will not make anything run/perform faster or better

Perfect, thanks! Yes my current unit is 600w, was just curious. I appreciate the response man!  I guess the question I should verify is, would 600w be enough for motherboard, gtx 1660ti, i7-8700, a 240gb ssd, 2 tb hard drive. Thanks!

A good 600W PSU would be plenty.

Which specific model is it?

I honestly have no clue. It was a prebuilt I bought over 2 years ago from digital storm. Ive upped the ram since then, and am replacing a fan that went bad today, and this sparked my curiosity on the whole thing

600W is plenty, but there are multiple 'classes' of PSU's, not all being made equal.

If you are looking at the PC, you can probably see the PSU too right and see the model number?

There's a shroud covering it. I'm not really concerned about it. However, now I have another issue the old fan had a 3 pin connector, and the new fan has the same 3 pin connector. Unfortunately the new one won't slide on.. the old fan was plugged into the top right slot that says cpu. The new fan won't connect to it but does come with an adapter that lets me plug it into the power supply. I just don't know which cable to plug it into, this supply isn't modular, and has all the cords wrapped up

I used the adapter and just figured I'd try one of these things and it worked. Thanks! 🙂

That controller has connectors labeled LED and FAN (and CPU). You need to plug into a connector FAN/CPU and the cable can only go in one way.

That would be a molex connector which works, but just means that fan always runs at 100% speed.

Yeah I tried all of the connectors fan, led, cpu and none would fit it, even tried doing it backwards.

Would there be a disadvantage to it running at 100% always?

The disadvantages would be more noise and technically a lower lifespan, because the bearing is just used more.

Ok that makes sense. It's definitely louder than I remember lol I appreciate the information and help! Maybe I'll get it connected correctly but I wear headphones so much I ain't worried about it being slightly louder. Thanks:)
