Hi. Came here looking for recommendations. I have a brother who bought a ssd and a 2tb hdd for his computer but accidently put the os on the hdd. He has been using this for awhile be eventually something got corrupted and it doesn't work anymore.

We thought we might as well switch the OS to the ssd. I will wipe the hdd with ccleaner which is so-far working but idk if it will wipe with an OS on it, but thats a different story. We have NOT wiped the ssd yet which had a few games on it like tarkov. Thats it. I thought, "In the meantime while the hdd is wiping on my computer, we can setup the OS on the ssd with his computer. I already have a flash drive with Windows on it from a previous build, why dont we just plug the ssd and the flash drive in, and install windows on that drive?" My thinking was that it would reformat the drive and wipe all the data inside of it for us so we don't have to get ssd wiping software. We tried this but it pulled up a page from Windows(So it booted from the flash drive) that the drive was corrupted or that there was a missing drive. There were a few options like: try again or run checker but none of these has worked it just boots right back to that screen. This is where I am at now and if you made it this far I congratulate you.

Also, when upgrading my own setup, I ran into a problem with wiping the old ssd with Windows on it. I tried fully wiping the drive with the Windows settings but this did not work. I just gave up and told myself I would get back to it later. After my new PC was built, I wanted to use my old drives. They were all pretty much successful except for that ssd with had windows on it. It wouldn't let me do it as there were many errors. anyways...

Any advice would be so nice and we would be very thankful. Any recommendations are also appreciated. Let me know if I can't wipe the hdd with windows on it with ccleaner although it is working so far.

Create a new usb installed media.

Boot from it.

Try again.
