Broken CPU pin

Ok, so I used to do this for AMD CPUs, and it took a lot of time for me, and now I have been diagnosed with hand tremors so I can't do this any more 😞 but because this pin is on the outside, if you get a very thing flathead screwdriver, a tiny, but dull knife, or a toothpick, and you push that pin back in place. You just need to concentrate and have extra steady hands.

I literally emailed my boss the other day and said that if I ever offer to fix a bent pin to turn me down because of my hand tremors. I would be super eager to do such a unique job, but would likely mess it up.

So I just a cpu pin off of ebay, and it was actually broken and it was only 1 pin that was broken, any ideas how to fix it? (Not trusting myself) But also I would prefer someonebody else to do it. So if some of you guys could list out some small buiessnesses that could fix my CPU, that would be great. The cpu is a ryzen 5 2600.

Contact a jeweler and see if they can do it. They work with metals that are similar and work within very small margins of error.

Fuck you scalpers, fuck you scammers, fuck all of you jerks that charge way too much to tech-illiterate people.

Most jewelry stores don't have an in-house jeweler specialist. Lucky for you a local business is much more likely to have someone trained in it. Just gotta make sure they understand that the tolerances are super duper tight and the pin has to be competely parrallel, upright, at the same exact height of the other pins. Well it can be a very small amount of tilt, but not much. Also bring an AM4 board with you (KEEP IT IN AN ANTI-STATIC BAG, IDK how high the risk of ESD in an jeweler's workshop is, but better be safe than sorry) so you can test it out without having to leave the store.

I could use some help with this!

im guessing it broke in shipping. with the small cpu box cover shell thingy

If the seller accepts returns and refunds, take a couple photos, and file for a refund. If they fight back you have to explain to them that you would have no good reason to break a damn pin and that either you didn't know about this critical damage or it occured in shipping, and depending on the seller that last part could work.

its not broken off, you might be able to bend it back. I did that with a p4 once, it worked fine. (untill I dropped it onto a carped floor, but that was my fault)

Contact a friend or family member with small, steady hands. It is a delicate job, but they can do it for free. A jeweler would likely charge a fee.
