Hello guys,

Sadly today my PC died on me.
I had classes and when I started it there was no post beep or picture.
I restarted it , still nothing.
Then I’ve put it on the bench and removed GPU - nothing.
Removed both sticks of RAM and still no post sound.
Tested the PSU with the shortening of the pins and it works good.
So all it’s left is CPU and MB. With these symptoms which one should it be. I think it should be the motherboard , right?
Before buying second hand one I decided to ask you so I don’t end up with two MB’s and still not a working PC.
Thanks in advance!

Wish you an awesome day!

I'm by no means an expert but this is what I would do:

  • unplug the computer from the wall, hold the power button for 30 seconds. plug it back in see if it works.
  • clear the cmos on the motherboard
  • reseat the cpu.

That's pretty much all I can think of before trying to RMA components.

do you get any video output from your Motherboard? Since you have an iGPU on that CPU, see if you get any output directly from the board.

Sadly no video output.

I would wager probability here and say that the motherboard is the likely culprit then over a CPU. CPUs generally far outlast a motherboard.
