Hi new to linux need some advice

I was using win 10 on old dell vostro 3550 i had no temp problems

I tried all sorts of distro like a lot you name it i tried it but they all had a high temp reading 

Some varied anywhere from 70 to 81 at idle sensors and i did every right im pretty sure and the problem reading says other so i dont really know what i should look for to fix

This happened the moment i installed linux

From what I am to recall on older OEM motherboards is that they usually lack any number of temp sensors to give a reading. So anything that says other could be anything from HDDs to memory, but typically these arent reported by basic OEM bios's.

 

So on that note, we don't even know if CoreTemp is even accurate in Windows let alone a Linux distro. 

 

Perhaps try other monitoring softwares and see which ones match. If they are all different.... not sure what to tell you then lol. Pick one with the lowest temp readings that you think would be accurate and run with it.
