I recently purchased a Corsair M45 mouse. This is my first gaming mouse but it doesn't seem to track properly. I've narrowed it down to the surface I'm using. It will spaz out whenever I use a surface that isn't uniform in texture and color. The old Microsoft mouse I was using from six years ago tracks on more surfaces and feels smoother. They are both optical mice. Are gaming sensors supposed to be picky or do I just have a defective mouse?

probably sensor, but yes they are kind picky, the razor and some other mice have software that will check your surfice and tell you how good it can see it, for example my old razor mouse mat i only get 40% while on the steelseries one i got i get 60-70% and if i got a metal one from mionix i would get 100% read.

but if its the sensor or not i dont know, but i did get something like that when my sensor bugged out after i changed some settings and i had to restart the mouse (i changed the settings again and applied) and it started working fine again.
