Posted March 19, 2021 I'm posting this in general discussion because I don't think this is worthy of being in the tech news subforum. So about 15 minutes ago, WhatsApp suddenly stopped sending messages for me. So I did some basic troubleshooting, like checking if my internet is working, force stopping WhatsApp anx clearing the cache, etc. When it still didn't work, I checked with my family members to make sure theirs is also not working. Then I called a couple friends, and they had this problem too. I then went on outage.report/whatsapp and found out that it's down for a lot of people in multiple countries, but since I'm in India, I'll confirm that it actually is down in my country. Is it working for y'all in the wild west?

What a shame. Maybe if this outage lasts, they'll change their minds. It's very hard for people around me to switch over from blackberry, now they are comfortable with WA, i don't think they will move anytime soon. They are aware of alternatives like telegram or signal, no one cared. So why bother.
