NAS case question

Budget (including currency): 900

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: video streaming nas

Other details:. I'm looking for a case that will fit at least 2 NAS drives, but in the smallest form factor possible. I would go with one of the qnap machines, but one I prefer to build it myself and two, that processor won't powerful enough. Thoughts?

Id probably just get a synology here if it was me.

What all do you want the nas to do, the included processors are fine for most uses.

There aren't many 2 bay nas cases out there. Do you need 2.5 or 3.5 in hdds. How much storage do you need?

If you want really tiny, you can just do something like a pi + a external hdd, or something like a odroid hc2

I'm wanting to support 7 or 8 streams. Going for a ryzen 3600 to accomplish this. Was looking at a fractal node 202 but it doesn't support 3.5 in drives

Have a look at some of the ITX Silverstone cases. Might fit what you need pretty well

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

I've looked at those before but they don't fit in my entertainment center. So I need something really streamlined. Or I may just have to get it it's own stand. Actually might not be a bad idea, because I'm trying to build this, a gaming rig and get a ps5. This entertainment center is just too small 😣

@Pinkieprimelike @IkeaGnomeasked, knowing the volumetric space you have will be helpful in recommended a case (photos with dimensions could be great). If you're going with an ITX build, you could build something custom yourself using a 3D printer or 20x20 mm aluminum extrusions (if so inclined). I second the Silverstone cases, they seem very nice and have a lot of great features. Personally my NAS is in a Fractal Node 804, and would also recommend these cases (I fell in love with the 804 while building and want to move my main system into one).

I decided it would just be easier to get a new shelf or build one rather than modify my entire build

Exactly the same situation for me @burh4n, my main computer is now in the Node 804 despite being purchased for a NAS build.
