Hiiiiiii,

I am looking for a budget board, with the strict maximum around $200 USD, and the loose max around $100 USD. I am planning to get a gmmk pro, a set of keycaps and a silent switch. Don't want to bother anyone when I'm typing, so silent switches are prefered. Any recommendations?

P.S. I'm just planning ahead, I'll probably be building this in about 8 months. If I don't get this down now I'll probably forget about it lol. Any help is appreciated 😄

Oh wups lol. Still new to this mechanical keyboard realm. Are linear creams that quiet?

They are not clicky, but they are not silenced, so I would not consider them quiet.

No, it does not. $70 is the reservation cost. You just temporarily hand them over $70 to reserve one, and the total price is $170. If you click the "Reserve Now" button, this shows up

Oh ok. I see. Any linear switch recommendations in general than?

If you want cheap I really like Gateron milky yellows and blacks(KBD fans usually has them for cheap but their shipping is pretty bad), usually around 20-25 cents US a switch. If you want mid range linear I recommend looking for TKC Tangerine switches, but they cost a lot aftermarket, or any of the JWK recolors. The JWK recolors are usually sold as H1, but alpacas also fall into the category. I don't really recommend creams they aren't super smooth due to the material properties of the stem and housing, but some people like them.

It's hard to beat Gateron linear, who also make Zeal switches.

Gateron optical silvers or yellows would be a good choice.  They both actuate at 1mm vs the standard 2mm, and both bottom out at 3.4mm vs the usual 4mm.

What size board do you want?  ie. 60, 65, TKL, full size?

Some good cheap linear switches are Gateron Yellows, but to get the smoothness of it, you'll need to lube them. But with the lube in place, they are sooooo buttery.
