EPS CPU Splitter safe?

Go to solution Solved by Electronics Wizardy,

Ive used a dual 2011 system with those setup for a few years for no issues. It should be fine, but a better psu is alwasy suggested.

I have an old server motherboard running 2 xenon X5667 (TDP 95 watts) so expected load is about 190 watts

I do have an old quadro 2000 TDP 62 Watts I want to run but I think that might be a bit much for the 430 Watt PSU

I'm only using an ssd for now, but want to hook up 4-8 hdd for a nas/media server.

this old post links to an article saying the power limit is 235 watts on the 8 pin connector so I should be ok, I think I just wanted to check here first

If your PSU does not have the number of cables that you need, it is for a reason.

You'll need a better PSU.
Pick a Tier A or B PSU from this list that has the wattage and connector requirements that you need:

I have one in the mail, but I wanted to get started configuring it in the mean time, thanks.
