HELP! NEW PC CASE FANS NO LIGHTS OR SPINNING

hello, my wife just got her new case today, i put the pc all together and when i plugged it in the fans spun and the lights worked- BUT 

 

with my back turned, and my excited wife drooling at the pretty colors, she started tapping away at the remote that controls the RGB fans and now they dont work- WHAT DO I DO??????? ive tried every small trick i can think of to fix this. 

 

are the fans shorted out? or would it just be the small board used to power the fans that shorted out? we need proper airflow for the pc, stock cooler, PSU and GPU fans run but no effort from the case and no response from the remote either.
