Im using msi after burner to tweak my GPU when mining.  (reference rx480 4gb)

curently, its at

  • -50core volt
  • -15 power limit
  • -66 core
  • +525 mem (as high as it goes)

I want to go past the limit of 2275mhz on the memory. This isn't permanent, its only for when im mining.

How would I do this?

(MSIAB is on the newest version, adrenaline is on version 21.2.1)

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

I'll have to look, but pretty sure that's the max and nothing short of a bios mod would allow higher.

Mobile right now, but I think I read something about flashing a 480 to a 580.

Will look into it more later.

ok, thank you.

sorry for tagging you out of the blue, but I know you are familiar with overclocking, I though i might ask.

OK I'm home now.

First thing to try.

Go to AB settings and check "extend official overclocking limits" and see if that gives you slider head room.

It's selected, though I Believe there is a dropdown option for a mode right under it. (I'm doing something, I can check in a couple hours)

Well, if I'm not mistaken, it's probably bios restricted.

Might be able to increase the threshold, but burning memory chips isn't fun.

So if you want, I can mod the bios and you can flash it to the card.

I take no responsibility if you F the card up. (I mean from OC, not the bios flash.)

If it's that much work for you I won't bother asking. I just wanted to try to push them another 100mhz or so.

(It's not stable enough for gaming though, crashed in 3d mark, but lasted 5 hours mining)

@ShrimpBrimei just realised that this^ would have sounded a bit rude.

It was not meant that way

Nah NP. Probably take me a few minutes.

I have the editor already.

You'll need a spare card or iGpu in case the flash bricks (which it probably won't)

Need the flash tool, I'll give you it here.

https://www.techpowerup.com/download/ati-atiflash/

A for sure copy of the original bios saved in 2 separate places.

Don't want to loose it, you can always upload it to TechPowerUp.

Save the link to your favorites in the web browser too if you want.

Please upload a copy of the original bios at your leisure 🙂
