but i have no idea how to do this as you cant just plug it in and hope for the best i know that much can i get an adapter for it? if so i assume it will affect performance?

IIRC, ADSL is usually only ran with RJ11. I am certain that you can pin it to to work with a RJ45 BUT are you sure that Archer A7 supports any sort of DSL connection? Because their product page only lists PPPoE and PPTP (also VPN) connections. What you are trying to do is replace a modem with a router, which cant be done.

If this plusnet device is a ADSL (ie phoneline) modem/router then you don't have a choice in the matter as the TPlink doesn't have a phone jack nor modem function.

You would need to replace the plusnet with a standalone ADSL modem then run this to the TPLink after setting it up with your ISP.

Yeah, no. A physical RJ-11 to RJ-45 adapter won't don it. You need something to interpret the analog signals coming from your phone provider to digital signals your network can interpret. This along with a subscription to an internet service. (ie. A DSL modem)

The Plusnet acts as your modem and doubles as a router. The TPlink shouldn't be needed unless you don't like your Plusnet WebUI and/or limited functionality.

If you don't use the Plusnet for anything more than Modem functionality if it was provided to you by your ISP you may be ab;e to request a stand-alone modem from them or buy your own. Then you could buy some shorter cables and make everything look tidier.
