Code 02 5800X Build

My Ryzen 5800X build has gone wrong. I am getting a 02 code(ap initialization before microcode loading).

So far I have:

Disconnected every thing except the PSU

I have removed the 2080 ti and replaced it with a GTX 980 ti because the 2080 ti is so big that it gets in the way. Both cards work in other systems.

The ram is from my i9 9900k build that I have tested.

I get the 02 without the SD installed.

I have also replaced the display port cable and have tried HDMI.

I did do a flashback on the Hero VIII and it flashed for about 5 minutes then stopped. I read that if it was unsuccessful it would not flash but stay lit.

My i9 9900k build uses the same PSU so I will be switching them around today. I will also replace the cables.

Specs:

CPU:  AMD R7 5800x
CPU Cooler: EVGA  360mm AIO
Motherboard:  ASUS ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Hero
Memory: CORSAIR Vengeance RGB Pro 32GB (4 x 8GB)
Storage: Corsair Force MP600 M.2 2280 1TB PCI-Express Gen 4.0
Storage: Crucial MX500 2TB 3D NAND SATA 2.5 Inch Internal SSD
Video Card: EVGA FTW3 Ultra 2080 ti
Case: Cooler Master H500P Mesh White
Power Supply: EVGA 1000 G+

After I replace the PSU my next plan is to put the i9 9900k computer in the case and put the Hero VII on the test bench. Then if it is not resolved I will return the motherboard.

I have been building only Intel PCs for a long time now so my lack of experience with AMD could be getting in the way of me resolving this.

Thanks.

Update.

I returned the Crosshair VIII Hero and got a Gigabyte Aorus Master.

Did the bios flash and it stared right up.

I am not too happy with ASUS. Two out of the last three motherboards I bought were DOA.

Now all I need are some 30 series cards and I will be happy.

Have you updated the BIOS? If not, then on the motherboard box, did it say anything like Ryzen 5000 compatible on it?

Nevermind, I didn't read your post fully.

The bios upgrade may be the issue since I have read posts by people that did it a few time before it worked.

If I have to return the motherboard I will get the "Dark" version of the Hero VIII that is out of stock everywhere now so it should have the update when they are back in stock.
