Is there any way to keep 2 windows or more machines (via software) in sync.

I don't think we need to go as deep as cloning windows but at least to pick up everything i want on 2 pc's or laptops so that when i need to use a pc or travel i can just open it and know that he will sync all the programs and information so that i can resume work, or before leaving the house just powering up the latoptop and he syncs whyle on wifi to save data and then just go with the laptop and the work on the go.

It's just  this. I know that most people probably just save the most crytical work on dropbox or other online services but my idea was to also have the programs i want in sync with a laptop or 2

thanks in advance

sync what exactly? onedrive is designed to keep all your personal folders synchroniszed between all your devices, dropbox can do the same, google drive can do the same, ...

the main idea was like what one pc had, the other has too, from software to all files and folders.

software is not gonna happen, and 'all' files and folders is essentially a permissions error waiting to happen.

Remote desktop is what you are asking. In a way that when you boot, you connect directly to remote machine. Thats the only way to have same software and files across multiple machines. Plus using network drives and syncing of local folders.

I kind of already work this way when it comes to server administration and some other things i have a server that i RDP into that has access to some windows servers and linux vm's this whole idea was for personal utilization.

However i see that if i install the same programs on all pc's and save my work on a personal cloud i can probably do it, i was just asking so that i could avoid the work of making my own new cloud server.

Then i can save all big data into that or a NAS and try to have that folder syncronized with all the pc's. It is probably what i will end up doing.

I'm going to see if there is anything like "yourowncloud" out there that can do it with a home nas.

Syncing just files is easy, syncing software and settings in actually working way is not. So for example two computers in same network you could use Resilio Sync for example. That doesn't need cloud or network drive, it syncs directly between two clients. In theory you can sync over the internet, but I haven't used that feature.
