Browser Instability after AIO Installation

CookieTheLabrador

Hi all,

I've recently installed an NZXT AIO and my PC has been having issues ever since. I built my PC with the stock cooler with the aim to upgrade to an AIO later on.

Chrome freezes every few hours to minutes happens more frequently when playing a video which can only be fixed with a hard restart. With videos on any browser, the audio drops out on Bluetooth or wired and a few seconds after, the video has a spinning wheel and freezes. I have to turn the PC off from the front button. I've tried other browsers such as Firefox and Edge but still have the same issues although less frequently. I've stress-tested the CPU, GPU, RAM, Storage for 1-2 hrs on AIDA64 & memtest and everything came back fine with no crashes & temps staying under 65degC.

What I've tried:

- Turning Hardware acceleration off

- Updating Audio Drivers, Bluetooth & WiFi drivers and no luck

- Reinstalling Chrome and all other browsers

- Installing an old Chrome Version

- Clearing history & temp files on Windows and Chrome

- Rolling back to a previous windows update

I've stayed away from resetting windows as I have a fair few apps installed that are heavy in storage. I've also stayed away from updating the BIOS as the last time I did it, I managed to brick an entire laptop.

No overclocks have been done.

My specs are:

- 5600x on a NZXT 240mm AIO with their fans & Arctic MX4 thermal compound

- MSI B550M MAG MORTAR WIFI on the BIOS version 7C94v14

- Galax 1650S

- RMx750W with Sleeved Extensions by LinkUp

- upHere RGB Case fans that are controlled by the MOBO

Software

- NZXT Cam for RGB and Pump speed

- MSI Dragon Centre for Mystic Light

- Adobe PS, AI

- Office Suite

- AutoCad, Solidworks and Fusio360

Few more but I dont think they are important.

I've attached an image of the event viewer readings. The critical errors are when I've had to hard restart the PC.

What are some fixes you all suggest? Happy to do anything at this point.

Cheers and take care!

Just to make sure: what are your temperatures after installing the new AIO?

AND: Make sure your memory is secured properly in the slots.

With AIDA64 running for 1.5hrs, the CPU is hovering around 65degC on the quiet setting in CAM.

The memory was reinstalled multiple times and is seated properly. Windows and Hardware info detects it as 32GB 3200mhz which is what I have.

Alrighty, well the temps surely aren't the problem.

I would make sure the slots don't have dust or other debris in them. And then run a memtest86 to make sure it isn't the problem.

Just reseated the memory and ran memtest and windows memory diagonistic tool with both reporting no errors. There was no dust in the memory slots. Any other suggestions?

I have a friend who had sort of similar problems to you.

A BIOS update + high performance AMD power plan fixed it.

Hey, just wanted to give you an update as you have helped me immensely, it has rarely done the crashing after the update and high performance plan. Thank you very much!

Remove dragon center.  I've heard nothing but problems with it.

Is it possible to keep mystic light by it self as it is the only thing I use dragon centre for?

Unfortunately, no, I don't think there is anything available.  My board has very limited rgb but after reading the horror stories I figured it wasn't worth it and I haven't bothered to try anything else.
