Custom SATA cables?

Tazz 316

I was looking at cablemod but i don't see any way to make a custom sata cable with more than 4 connectors on it.

I don't know if it's possible to have one cable with 10 sata connectors on it to power 10HDDs.

I have a unRaid box with 10 hard drives in it.

Can someone point me in the right direction? 🙂

You can buy individual connectors with wires crimped to them : https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/molex/0685610020/2567843

In theory you can solder 10 of those to 4 thick wires that go into a power supply.

The reason you don't see with more than 4 connectors is because you're not  supported to exceed around 9-10A per voltage ... and each sata connector is rated for up to 4.5A on each voltage and each mechanical drive consmes up to around 1A on 12v and around 0.4-0.6A on 5v

10 drives on the same chain of connectors can go over those maximum current recommendations
