Remote Control does not really take that much hardware. Microsoft had its own remote control for decades, there is also teamviewer. What exactly are you looking to do?

Parsec is absolutely great.

 

Google Remote Desktop is also good if you don't intend to game or do serious work.

You mean remote desktop or something else? Remote control can mean multiple things. Like just accessing media player controls over wifi.

built in windows remote desktop is the best IMO. Other programms like teamviewer are basically just different versions of the normal remote desktop with additional features.
