Samsung 970 Evo Plus

I went online to buy a nvme ssd and I found Samsung 970 Evo Plus to be the best option performance per price for me. But this got me woundering if there is going to be an heir to it in the next 6-7 month? Or should I buy it now since its price got down to its lowwest ever?

 

Also, what other competitors out there to consider?

2. Do you need a 970 Evo Plus? Or would you be just fine with something like a Crucial P1?

2. The types off files I am dealing with are getting large and large. Also, I will be multitask alot so definitely Samsung 970 Evo Plus.

For most use cases and even boards (consider: boards with PCIe 2x instead of 4x for NVMe drives) the Crucial P1 will do just fine. It'll still be way faster than a SATA drive.
