PC Build Log: The Hex

Hi all, so after like a few years of playing around with the idea of building this pc, I finally managed to do it and upgrade from my pre-built, I went for the a clean look with the mix of affordability and performance, since parts here are quite expensive for computers. I was surprised on how easy this was, however I did take about one and a half hours of cable management, since I was trying my best to make it clean, overall from the front I feel like it looks fine, while the other side isn't messy but could be better. The W10 install also had some issues, however I manage to fix it with some help from LTT Forums :old-wink:. Anyways let me know what you all think! I'm quite happy of the build.

Thanks man! I was considering RGB Ram at first but I didn't want too much lighting tbh, but I'll consider a rgb strip maybe in the future along the bottom

Not too sure bro sorry, I got a motherboard that only had gigabit, since Wi-Fi wasn't that important to me, maybe try making a post on the forum.

awesome build! love the aesthethic, eventough i think it would look even better without all those RGB fans. 😉

Thanks! I set the fans to just yellow so it isn't so glaring and is closer to the color scheme of the components 🙂

A clean build, however I just had to make an account to comment that this case looks like your typical pre-2020's choked front intake style, and you may be better served moving those front fans to top intake.

Then again, your components aren't particularly demanding in terms of cooling, so you'll probably be all right as is.

I get what you mean, though I most likely will be changing the case fans entirely in the next two months, as these fans don't have proper mobo connectors, so its using PSU power instead. Also welcome to the LTT forums!

Quick update, got a new 32 GB ram kit from ADATA for star citizen in the future and for some render work haha, plus it looks nicer in the system.

Also if anyone has any suggestions on whether I should buy a new case and replace the current tecware M3 I have now, as the fans are molex fans so I cant decide weather to change it out or just buy a Montech Air 100 with 4 rgb fans, seems like a better choice tbh or maybe just buying new controller with fans or maybe even an AIO for the cpu, just tryna see if I can keep the fan noise down, since it spins up quite a bit to keep temps down

Anyways the photos of the new ram:

Another update, got a new AIO to help deal with idle temps and managed to get a Deepcool 240EX Castle for a good price on sale, but I also had to change the case as I ended up messing up the dimensions for the fit of the AIO in the previous case... So I got a Coolermaster Silencio S400 on sale off amazon. So the temps now on load while gaming has gone down from 80 to about 65 on no man's sky, haven't tested others but its a decent improvement. The gpu load temps are also down due to better airflow in the silencio, so from 77 to about 64 so I'd consider this a win.
