As long as your BIOS is 7B79vAB or newer, you'll be fine.

It's not too hard to update the BIOSso if your BIOS is lower than that, update it to the newest once you have the 3700X.

Step-by-step instructions:

1. Update the BIOS to the newest by following this guide:

https://us.msi.com/support/technical_details/MB_BIOS_Update

2. Remove your 1500X and put in the 3700X.

3. Boot your system up.

Don't update it until you have the 3700X. Otherwise you may run into problems where the BIOS supports the 3700X but not the 1500X.

Also, while you still have the 1500X still in the motherboard, update the motherboard BIOS to a version that supports the Ryzen 3700X.

Ideally, you want to use the latest stable version.

 

Reset the OC back to factory default first, before putting the Ryzen 3700X into the system.

Your 4 GHz OC settings used with the 1500X probably won't work with the 3700X.
