Budget (including currency): USD

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Light Gaming, Light Video-Editing

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

This is my idea. Let me break it down for you.

CPU: ACTUALLY, I want to get a Ryzen 5 PRO 4650G. But it's not listed on PCPartPicker. I want to use it's APU. It's very near in performance to my RX 580. Either from AliExpress or eBay, whatever is cheaper.

CPU Cooler: I saw ETI use this heatsink and fell in love with it.

Motherboard: I need a B550/X570 to use 4000/5000 Ryzen CPUs. Also with included wireless and BT. Mini-ITX, 2x M.2 Slots, 2x HDMI/DP (for my 2x 27" monitors)

Memory: I love G.Skill. In my current system I am Running 4x8GB of G.Skill Trident (2600). Faster RAM is helpful to Ryzen CPUs. 3200 in this scenario. RGB is a plus. 🙂

Storage: I want 2x 1TB 2.5" SSD's. For backup/games/movies purposes. These or TeamGroup has good reviews. A tad cheaper, too, than Samsung. I have a Samsung 250 and Samsung 500 NVME M.2, that I can add to motherboard.

Case: I love the look on this case. It includes a 650W 80+ Gold PSU. Has 4 fan mounts in back, side, and bottom. (2 fans already inserted) Plus the RGB looks awesome! I don't think any of my phones use wireless charging. Oh well.

Also, I'm not the brightest on fans. I heard Noctua is some of the best, and I have several left over from older builds. But as RGB is crucial here, what are the best fans? Thermaltake? BeQuiet? Corsair? I see those cheap/odd-named ones on Newegg/Amazon. But that's probably what they are, cheap..

Anything I left out or overlooking, let me know.

Ram? 2400mhz cl15? Jesus man, 3600mhz cl16 is like $175. Do you need 32gb of ram just for light video editing? You said you're going to use a rx580? This is the build I'd *probably* recommend, Using the new ssupd MESHLICIOUS, however your situation may be unique. It's for sure not that great looking, but It'll perform quite well.

Pure rock slim is just to quiet down the system, totally isn't required. 1tbx2 NVME drives are because you added 2tb of storage.

Not even close. By very, very, very far. From what reviews exist it seems to be competing at a level of ~GT1030/RX550 at best, assuming fast RAM.

Also A55... it used to be SM2258XT+TLC, which is about as low end as it gets, but nowadays you have bonus chance to get QLC too, for glorious <50MB/s write speeds. Bad choice.

Looking at sata ssd-s good ones will be mx500/860evo/870evo/wd blue/barracuda 120 and similar stuff.

Phanteks has Halo RGB fan frames. They mount on most fans and provide motherboard sync'd lighting. Using Halos would let you keep the Noctua fans.

You should be looking at DDR4-3600 CL16 memory.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

Damn, I wasn't watching for that. Darn PCPartPicker.. I meant for these: https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-32gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820232748

I need 32GB, because I run a lot of VM's. And that can take up quite a bit. I thought I didn't need to include that, as in, I know what I'm getting.

@Brok3n But who cares? You totally scrapped everything I just said... Why did you go for a Intel system when I posted AMD?

@brobI'll look at those. Yeah, I'll bump it up to 3200.

@Archer42

I know my RX 580 isn't on par with a Ryzen 4650G APU. BUT I'm not gaming any more than I used to.

I know the SDDs aren't the fastest shiz, but for pure storage, I don't need the greatest speed in all the land.

I went for what offered the best bang-for-buck. Hope you don't have a problem with that.

So does that mean you don't care about my wishes?

OLOy RAM? Who are they? I NEVER heard of them. And I heard weird ones, too...

You never mentioned that you specifically wanted AMD and never provided a good reason for wanting an AMD cpu anyways. I'm again, trying to get you the best bang-for-buck product. If you don't like that, it's fine. OLOy is pretty well known, their ram is generally fine.

It is basically useless for games, as any iGPU. If you expect to play any games this is not a good choice.

They are not just "not best". They are terrible. Not just because of performance, but also price/performance. You save $10 and get SSD which is 10x slower basically...
