A Friend of mine recently asked for a suggestion. He's going to build a new pc for himself. He's stucked between 3200g and core i3 10100.

N.B- He has no gpu now. And he isn't sure to get one in next couple of months.

He will mostly use it for his college assignments & Learning filmora. He ain't got any plans to upgrade in next 6 months. Tia

3200g will be the better option as it has a decentish iGPU compared to the 10100 incase he wants to game in easier titles at all during downtime.

Well he has got no intentions for gaming rn.

All he want is productivity. As he'll be learning editing through filmora

3200g with even 8gb ram is a much better choice overall. With the GPU market in such flux the safer bet of slapping an APU in the rig is a far better choice than compromising on a much older card and limiting what your friend may want to do. That is, IF your friend can even FIND a 3200g, 3400g or even a derpy Athalon chip but that is a very last resort.

The Ryzen chip will still be the better option.

Ryzen igpu is better, and since he has no gpu that's surely the better option - even if not gaming.
