Just making a list for preparing for when my MSI GF63 8RC dies. If there is any red flags, let me know, or give me a changed parts list and I will keep that in mind!

Budget (including currency): 2300$ - 2700$

Country: Australia

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Roblox, Fortnite, SCP Containment Breach, Among Us, BeamNG.drive, Euro Truck Simulator 2, American Truck Simulator, Rocket League, Pokemon Trading Card Game, SCP Secret Laboratory

Other details I want to play at 2560x1440 MINIMUM, Upgrading from an MSI GF63 8RC, And yes, I do have an existing pcp list.

I give it a fine out of 10. Only thing I'd change is PSU for an 850w, but a 650w should be just fine. I might also change out the case for something like a Phanteks P400a, since the H510 doesn't have great build quality or have great airflow. Otherwise a solid build.

Yeah, I did think a 650w PSU would be enough for some overclocking and maybe a bit of an upgrade, since after all of the parts put in to PCP, it said I needed 424w estimated.

Just saying, the PCP estimate is next to worthless. I've seen systems (although not that many) that will run with less than their recommended minimum without issue, and I've seen systems that will crash with 100w more than the said minimum. Go based off what Nvidia and the rest of the community finds to be the appropriate wattage for the card. That said, as long as you aren't planning on doing world record type overclocks, 650w should be fine. You won't have much room for upgradability, so you cannot go out and put in a 3080 if you find a good deal on one in the future, but if this system is going to be assembled and never messed with again, the 650w should be fine.

If you want to play at 1440p, I'd suggest changing your processor to just a 3600, then CPU cooler to a Hyper 212 RGB Black Edition, and change the mobo to a B550-A from MSI (ROG Strix is expensive for the sake of flexing/being expensive, no visible difference).

Change the memory to Crucial Ballistix. No point in getting the RGB Pro unless you are a sucker for RGB.

SSD is good, but I also suggest getting an HDD along with it, around 2TB would be good.

If you can, try to upgrade your GPU to a RTX 3070. Otherwise if you can't, then sure a 3060 would be sufficient for 1440p.

That casing is awful, with almost next-to-no airflow. Switch it to a MetallicGear Neo Air, a Phanteks Eclipse P300A Mesh, or a Fractal Design Meshify C.

Changed the PSU, made it 700W to make some room for future upgrades.

3/10. A normal 3600 is fine, expensive motherboard for CPU, bad case, windows ten at full price, double NVME SSDS that are both ok, also overpriced cpu cooler for cpu.

geometry is hard
b550 > x570

Yep, I switched the 3600xt to a 3600, and switched the case to a Corsair 275R Airflow Case. I will change the cooler though.

I am going to test the clearance of the new CPU Cooler I picked (Arctic Freezer 34 eSports DUO) in PC Building Simulator with the selected ram in the same case on the motherboard.
