Change bios file to edit PCI settings?

Mark-McG

Hello everyone,

I have a custom loop water cooled system and I’m using a pci-e riser cable.

To get it to boot I had to manually set the PCIE to gen 3 as the riser seems to cause issues.

I had some issues so cleared CMOS forgetting about this and now I can’t boot.

Can anyone think of a way past this without breaking my loop open? I was thinking perhaps I could edit a bios file to force the slot to PCIE 3.0?

Thanks, Mark
