Doesn't battlefield use the CPU and take advantage of threads a lot? If so, then it's obvious that a PC with an i7 is going to beat your fx 4130 which is much slower.

the processor does near jack when gaming, as said, you might lose 10fps if you use a core 2 duo 2ghz processor. so its strange that the amd processor would lower the fps.. :/

not in bf4, a cpu makes a let of big difference in that game, take it from a user with an i3 2120 and a i7 2600

cpu: intel i5 4670k @ 4.5ghz Ram: G skill ares 2x4gb 2166mhz cl10 Gpu: GTX 680 liquid cooled cpu cooler: Raijintek ereboss Mobo: gigabyte z87x ud5h psu: cm gx650 bronze Case: Zalman Z9 plus

I really think that the problem is your CPU, that doesn't mean that you have to change everything. You should get something like a FX-6300, or if you have some more money, a FX-8350.

Not trying to be mean here, your CPU is good, but it's not really enough, for 2x GTX 660.

Another thing you could try, if you have an aftermarket cooler for the CPU, is overclocking it, but only if your motherboard is good enough for that, if you have the cooling for it, as I said, and if you have some experience.

Desktop: Intel Core i9-9900K | ASUS Strix Z390-F | G.Skill Trident Z Neo 2x16GB 3200MHz CL14 | EVGA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER XC Ultra | Corsair RM650x | Fractal Design Define R6

Laptop: 2018 Apple MacBook Pro 13"  --  i5-8259U | 8GB LPDDR3 | 512GB NVMe

Peripherals: Leopold FC660C w/ Topre Silent 45g | Logitech MX Master 3 & Razer Basilisk X HyperSpeed | HIFIMAN HE400se & iFi ZEN DAC | Audio-Technica AT2020USB+

BF4 is quite CPU intensive & will fully utilize 8 threads if available unlike most games that will use 1 or 2 cores at most.

AMD FX 4100 averaging 58fps with dips to the 40s doesn't sound too far off the #s op is seeing with his 4130.
