Is it okay to use a paper between the keyboard and screen of laptop?

I want to protect the screen from scratches from the keyboard. Big lint free clothes are not available here. Only fluffy microfiber cloth is available.

So I used a Legal Paper and attached it with some masking tape. 

I don't use the laptop keyboard and have a wireless keyboard.

lap[tops are designed so that the keys won't scratch the display... this shouldn't be neccesary unless the laptop was poorly designed.

Paper is actually pretty abrasive so might cause more scratches than you'd have otherwise.

The issue is my previous laptop without anything in between developed impression of the keyboard on the screen.

I will put the default perforated cloth thingy that came with the laptop on the paper tho just so that it doesn't scratch the screen.

Decent ones indeed do get it right nowadays, but the cheap stuff with mushy chassis still often do get key scratches...

I mean if you're concerned you're probably better off with getting a screen protector for your laptop.

Would expect that to be way too thick to be able to close the lid.

As per amazon they are 222gsm. Or around the thickness of a high gloss photo paper.

Anyways I am searching for the thinner ones that I use to clean my spectacles.

That's... not comparable at all.

A microfiber cloth has nowhere near the same density as paper...

Anyways, made this cloth fiber thingy from another laptop package lying around. Its bit thicc and works okay.
