How to find Compatible ssd for gaming notebooks

hello,

I have an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-52 loading OS from a slow 5400 rpm hard drive resulting slow boot time so I want to upgrade it with a m.2 SSD  but I am not sure which manufacturer's SSD should I go with.

what factors to check before making the final purchase.

And my laptop supports only two lanes so I will not get high speeds as advertised.

should I buy a 240gb or 512gb ssd.

sorry for my bad English.

Thank You.

If you can afford 500GB/512GB, it would be the faster option. I recommend Crucial MX500, as they are quite fast, and their prices are fair.

Crucial MX500s are not Nvme right?
