Hi my uncle got locked out of his surface laptop by bitlocker and it's asking for a recovery key that he doesn't have access to. Is there any way to bypass this by restarting the pc then opening cmd or idk

The recovery key is automatically backed up in his Microsoft linked account of the system.

If he didn't have a Microsoft linked account, or can't login to his account (forgotten password and can't do a password reset), then he is screwed. All his data is lost. The encryption of BitLocker is very strong.
