Suggestions on buying a new Laptop at around US $1400

I was looking to buy a new laptop and did some research on my own but I would love your suggestions.

My primary use case is coding and light video editing. Battery life and portability should be the main focus along with a good, color accurate display. A 4k or touch display isn't a necessity.

 

Also, Is it a good idea to wait for a few months for the Ryzen laptops to come out?

 

My budget is around US $1400.
