Hello, I really need help figuring out this issue with my newly built PC. I bought a 3070 the other day and when it was plugged in it prevented the PC from turning on at all. The fans in the PC would move like a centimeter and then stop (also didn’t light up). I thought it was a faulty card so I went and bought another one. The new 3070 I bought doesn’t work as well. I tried everything i can without looking at bios since I don’t have integrated graphics in my cpu. We plugged a different GPU into the PC and it works fine, just not the 3070. I restarted cmos, restarted bios and updated it with the old card. The parts I have work with the card so it’s also not a compatibility issue. It’s a new PC so I know nothing is wrong with motherboard or PSU. Please offer any suggestions on what it could be.

What parts do you have?

It could be the GPU or the PSU.

EVGA 750 BQ, if that was too much wattage how would I lower it.

What was the old GPU? A good 750 watt PSU should be ok.

The old GPU I used that worked fine was an asus gtx 1060

It may or may not matter, but are you using two power cables or one form the PSU?

The card requires two 8 pins. Both are coming from the PSU, one cable is says pci that is split as a 6 prong with 2 detached ones for the ground. The other says VGA BQ on it which is a straight up 8 pin.

Check cable voltage and connections, if good, you may have to RMA the GPU.

Also, if you can, see if the GPU works in another system.
