Windows only recognises bluetooth audio devices.

So this happened yesterday(ish), spent my anniversary weekend doing our movie marathon, then Monday comes and windows no longer recognised anything that wasn't bluetooth for audio. Then it went away, then around noon EST today, it went back to only accepting bluetooth as audio devices. When I go into sound settings, the drop down for select audio device has none in it. Have tried different HDMI cables, different tvs, same problem. And when I used an AUX BT dongle, it was recognised but no sound came through (maybe a whisper in a silent room?). But playing through my JBL BT headphones it's fine..... I'm perplexed.....
