I really got confused, what is the best CPU for motion graphics and editing

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X
Intel core i7 10700kf

I’d say the 5800x. (For video editing - not too sure about motion graphics)

The answer, as with anything, is:

Cyrix! 🤪

I'm kidding, the answer is "it depends"

It depends on what software you are using.

Some packages prefer many cores, and some prefer pure single core clock speed.

So without knowing what software you wish to use, it's difficult to say.

5800x has better single core performance trhan 10700k so should be better at editing. also better multicore so better at rendering the edit.

but 5800x is usually more expensive. if the 5800x and it's platform cost over 100$ more than 10700k and it's platform then go for 10700k.

the best cpu is probably the cpu you can buy ... if there's stock of the 5800x where you live then go for it ... if not intell wins by default there

  • 2 weeks later...

According to me, I own an AMD ryzen 5 5600x rig and one of my friends have intel 10700k (not kf). I was curious about this so I asked him to give a screenshot of a cinebench benchmark and I assumed 5800x was mush higher (+174)in single core and a bit in multicore (+397). This also maybe I have overclocked it. In my view AMD is going better though in games I found bit frame drop. "AMD should be renamed as Alien Micro Device". I was a 7 year intel user and with 5000 amd shocked me!

AMD is the performer - it costs $450

Intel is the budget option - it is often $325

Because of that budget pricing and also availability I chose intel ... cause the most recent amd I could get was 3000 series

If your workload can leverage multiple cores, the 10850k is also often $399 or less, which is still less expensive than the 5800x.

I mostly game and I thought about the I7 or I9 but it was 180$ more for the I7 and even more for the I9 so I decided to stick with an I5 and maybe get 11th gen I7 later if I need it someday
