Yeah, but i think it should be at least a little better then my i3?

Not in single cores scenarios (i.e. gaming). See attached image (red boxes):

4160-8320.jpg

Hello, i have some troubles with my pc. Recently i upgraded my pc from an i3 4160 to fx 8320 black edition. i got it from a friend so i didnt pay for it. only bought a motherboard. But problem is i noticed my games are choppy now, despite low cpu and gpu usage. My temps are normal too gpu- 50 while gaming and cpu 35-40 i use water cooling . Here is my benchmark after i installed the cpu https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/39339589 , after that i upgraded my bios, but it didnt help.. I mostly play dota 2 on ultra and back on my i3 it worked like a charm no problem at all. But now the game feels choppy. At times i get 100 fps but then if i go to the middle lane my fps drops to 60 and it becomes really choppy. Also while playing hroizon zero dawn, i get really bad fps. My cpu usage while playing HZD is 100 but the gpu usage is 40%. I stress tested the cpu and gpu so i know they can go to 100 %. Someome told me it might be the ram, i need better ram.Any advice will be appreciated.
And also is it poseible that my gpu is bottlenecking the cpu?
Specs:
MB: Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P
Gpu gtx 750 ti
Cpu fx 8320 black edition with water cooling
Psu: 550 Wats
ram 2x4 1333 mhz
ps. it says different about my ram on the benchmark but i use 2x4.

that amd fx has worse single core performance compared to the i3 4160. it shows low cpu usage because games are not utilizing all 8 cores rather than the 2 cores faster cores of the i3.

You downgraded quite badly. FX8320 is barely on par with second gen i3s and you switched to it from a fourth gen i3.

FX is worse than your old i3 on gmaes. on workloads it is quite a bit better tho. at gaming quite a bit worse.

Thanks everyone, i will be returning the processor and reinstalling my i3. Any advice on low budget upgrade?

safe bet is an i5. but i would check out some of the xeon e3s available as they can be quite cheap. e3-1240 and above are all 4core 8threads.

Use this list for compatible CPUs - Generally the higher up the list, the ebtter, but the 'T' series are probably best avoided.

https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-H81M-DS2-rev-10/support#support-cpu

4790 or 4790K would be as good as it gets, but whether you can get one for a good price, no idea.

Is it going to make a big difference? Here in my country i can find one for 50 bucks. My mobo is gigabyte ga-h81m-ds2  can it handle it? Also is my gpu enough.

for 50 bucks that is very good deal for you. that will help a lot depending on the games.

faster clockspeed, more cache and douple the cores and threads will help you a lot.

dpends on the games of course.

again depends on the things you do and what games you play. that is pretty good pair in general.

why is it that much of a problem ?

... if you find an i5 for 50$ and an i7 fo 50$ you will take the i5 if the gpu is not fast enough and will bottleneck the i7 ?   That would be a really strange thing to do ... that i7 4770 for 50$ is quite a deal and I would jump on it
