Can't run Linux in Virtual Machine

You sure the dvd was used was correct?

 

Was the vm and image both the same type(uefi/legacy)?

i recently installed linux on my VM and it says me.. please choose a kernel appropriate for your kernel even before installing.. i have given 1 core of my i5 10400, i have enabled VT-X, i have enabled PAE/NX, i have enabled 3d acceleration, the usb controller OHCI.... what can i do??

DO other distros work?

 

I think some settings like 3d isn't reccomened for linux vms as I get weird errors with the drives.

ubuntu 14.something LTS works (even with hyperthreading off) and windows 7 also does work (windows 10 don't work, please check the link below)

Id try running the vm with all the settings set to default(usb, network, video)

even with default settings, any new version of kali linux, ubuntu and windows (8 and 10) don't work

Does the vm start? Can you show a screenshot of the errors in the os?

 

Can you try a different hypervisor like hyper-v?

just after installing (the step: copying needed files for windows) and it restarts at usual, but what is shows is lqGXbT1.png

oh no, 

 

i tried again with the legacy and this is what happened

it worked after waiting for over 10 mins
