GTX 1080 Gigabyte fans stuck at 25%

Izak_lotter

Hi,

I trust you are well.

I have installed my GTX 1080 into a new system and the fan speed is stuck on what seems to be 25%.

I made use of gigabyte extreme gaming engine to monitor the temperature of the graphics card and due to the fan speed being 25%, the card ran over 90 degrees under load. MSI afterburner also does not work.

I have tried to change the fan speed, auto, presets and manual mode but nothing is changing fan speed. The fan stop also does not work even if the app says that the fan speed is 0%, it is still spinning on 25%.

I am able to change the fan speed settings but it is not making any difference.I uninstalled my graphics driver with DDU and re-installed an earlier version, same issue. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Specs:

Dell S2719DGF 155Hz

Make sure your OS and the boards bios is up to date as there might simply be a driver/software conflict that prevents you from adjusting the speed.

Hi @emosunThank you for your suggestion.

GPU bios version is on 86.04.60.00.B4 (Latest version)

OS is the latest version from what I can tell.

Issue still remains present.
