Today I saw BestBuy had 3080's in stock. I clicked "Add To Cart" and got an "Awaiting status" message. That lasted for over an hour, then I created a second tab and checked the availability which said "Sold out". I gave up. Anyone know about this awaiting status? Should I have just quietly read a book and waited another hour?

If it already out, then its most likely gone. Usually if theres something it would have found it pretty quickly.

The RTX 3080 and 3060 Ti sell out very quickly during Best Buy drops.

As started on Best Buy's website "Shortly, the button below will turn back to yellow (unless we sell out)". This means that if the card sells out at any point, you will be stuck in an infinite "Please Wait..." queue. You can check if you're in an infinite queue by pressing and holding CTRL and clicking refresh. Doing this will open another identical tab that will either return you to the queue, or show "Sold Out".

In the event the button displays "Sold Out", there is no reason to continue waiting, as you will never get the option to Add to Cart.
