Hi so I have an RTX 3080 Suprim X which i’m currently mining on while i’m not gaming. My friends PC died and he’s not preordered a 5900x but is on a 3 month wait, so he said I can use his 3070 to mine on.

I have a 3700x on a Aorus X570 Master in an o11 Dynamic. Would it be possible to mine on his 3070 and my 3080 at the same time with my current set up? Or do I need some special hardware to make it work?

If you have the power for it I think it should be fine. They operate independently of each other.

Cool, thanks. I have a 1000W which should be fine if I underclock them a bit. Also what do you mean they will run independently of each other? I’m a bit of a noob when it comes to this stuff, will it lower my hash rate?

It means each card will work on its own. They don't coordinate or work together in any way.

~edit: To clarify: This is how it's designed to work. Each card gets its own set of data to work on. It's not like rendering where both cards contribute to the same image.

Remember to either quote or @mention others, so they are notified of your reply

Thank you, I just need a riser cable because my top GPU had 0 airflow, so i’ll just take out my bottom fans on my O11 so I can make a bit of room for the GPUs
