sorry if this is in the wrong section in advance.

I am looking to purchase a 5900x. I have been waiting patiently on a pre order list with a local retailer but it is taking too long - I need to upgrade my build for work and naturally can't wait much longer. I have all the parts ready (including GPU) but the CPU.

I know this doesn't help the current situation with lack of supply - but I am considering turning my attention to StockX. Question is, has anyone purchased from there? are they genuine? Anyone with experience on how it works?

StockX is genuine, and the buying experience is exactly what you would expect from other merchants. The only thing is that I wouldn't suggest supporting these scalpers. What type of work are you doing anyways? There could be a chance that a 5900x won't have a significant performance bump over 3900x/3950x.

What work do you do? For most workloads a 3000 series and a better gpu would be a better investment.
