Hi guys,

 

I currently run and i7-4770 and a 980ti.

 

Looking to upgrade my whole system to a 5900x with a 3080 but wondering which to buy first.

 

I can preorder cpu with ram, mobo and aio easily, however due to the stock issued with current GPUs I cannot get a sniff at one.

 

So was wondering whether it would be worthwhile upgrading everything apart from my GPU and using my 980ti for the time being and maybe waiting for the 3080ti if there is ever news of this.

 

Any advice would be much appreciated.

You will need a new psu too most likely. 3080:s usually need a quality unit of 750W at minimum.

Sorry wasn't clear about this, was going to upgrade everything, got a 750w corsair atm but was thinking going to 1000w just to be safe, maybe overkill.

that one should be able to handle a 5900x + 3080, and it's a good psu.

so i don't think you need a new one
