That's exactly what I was thinking, maybe for 700 bucks... and get a 780... good plan.

It's doesn't really suffer from dual GPU problems, it has slight temp problems in small cases, but as long as there's good airflow it'll be alright.

It doesn't have the TDP of 2 cards, nor the heat production of two cards sandwhiched next to eachother.  It can still have SLI issues but honestly I've never had an issue related to SLI in the year I've had my 780s.

Ok,  so SLI won't really effect my games like Dota 2 or Battlefield 4?

In bf4 of course expect ~80 fps at ultra 1080p., not sure if Dota is GPU intensive.

i know that it does not suffer but i know some people who just despise the dual gpu solution, i do not i mean if i had 500 buck i would buy the 690 if it was available but my cpu would bottle neck it so much though  :D

personally i wouldn't build a machine around a vidcard (but thats my opinion, start with the mobo, cpu and mem first)

but a 690 for 500 is a good deal...

They're good cards, although lacking a bit on the vram and OCíng is a bit of a pain, but it'll run any game thats out atm on high/ultra settings without probs
