Hi

 

At the moment i have a single HD 7870 XT in my gaming PC, which is pretty much the same performance of a HD 7950. And was wondering what would be a worth while upgrade for a good price. By the way i live in NZ

If he wants some of the newer features and can't lay out that much, while only a slight upgrade, the 770 or 280x are pretty good.

I would wait until the new 800 series comes out.  Not only will it provide you with the most current, and best new GPUs available, but if you are adverse to spending absolute top dollar, it should drop the prices of older cards, such as the ATI 290 or GTX 780. 

I personally have a 780 and I love it.

Wish I could do that with my 7950...dat triple slot DCU II cooler though...

Wish I could do that with my 7950...dat triple slot DCU II cooler though...

I am running 2 7950s on my Qnix OCed 1440p monitor and it is amazing..

You can get some pretty good older gen cards second hand.  But if you have a a decent amount, either a second 7870, or a 290

I really want to, but they are so hard to find and if found they cost more then mine did new!

Get a second 7870

Its the XT version, which means it can only Corssfire with another HD 7870 XT or passable a HD 7950 or HD 7970.

I personally have a 780 and I love it.

I think the idea to wait for the 800 series is a very good one :)
