I/O cover question

I saw someone make an I/O cover and I want to know if they are safe? More to the point will it spontaneously combust.

Here is the one I made:

I don't think there is anything wrong with having a I/O cover to give it a nice look. Also as long as it isn't conductive it wont short out anything and 'spontaneously combust'

That shouldn't be a problem at all just be sure to not short circuit anything if it's made out of metal, but it'd probably make it our of plexi-glass or acrylic to be safe. Another option is you could mask off the motherboard and paint the metal on the I/O connectors.

Unless that I/O-cover consists a conductive material it shouldn't "spontaneously combust" or short out anything on the board.
