Hello All,

Some PCB damage is present on a Zotac GTX 1080 Mini. Now normally I would submit and RMA request, though I damaged the board while removing a stripped screw (knocked off 3 capacitors and 2 resistors, which I can't find) and secondly the card was purchased on offerup so that makes a RMA Request even more difficult. It's a shame because the card worked perfectly before, though now I'm afraid to power it up and inadvertently kill something on the board. The fact that an entire board would just go to waste over a few small components makes quite angry.

In the end I'm pretty desperate here. I haven't been able to find a schematic online, nor have I gotten much advice because no one can really guess how to fix it without some more context. So I'm reaching out to the community in the U.S. or anywhere really. If you know a Zotac electrical engineer / technician who would be willing to fix the card for a price I'm willing to pay. I'll attach some pics of a good card and one of my damaged card.

Damn I can't even imagine what you were doing to remove a stripped screw and knocked off 3 caps and 2 resistors. You might be able to take it to a local PC repair shop and they MIGHT accept it but a 1080 Mini might be totaled based on how much they are going to charge

@BuckGupTo keep a long story short, I was trying to remove the heatsink to clean the card. It looked like a muddy snow storm of dust and the thermals were terrible. I got a bit obsessive rather than using my clear judgement of just letting it be and finding a work around, hence this happened. So real stupid on my part and certainly won't make that mistake again. The screw was really close to some components, so I can only guess that one of my iFixit tools must've slipped, knocking off the surface components. If I can't get into contact with someone with some expertise, my last course of action is to guess essentially. I'll measure the visually similar components (aka resistance and capacitance) and then order them to be soldered back onto the board and hopefully save some money. 50 50 on the polarity of the cap though so lets hope it goes well.

I'll definitely look for it. I'm still very new to component level work (aka no experience before this except some college courses on E&M), so what chips should I be looking for on the board to indicate what does what, or should I just start googling what I see.

They are ceramic capacitors so they aren't polarized. I also suggest you try and find someone with the same card who can measure them for you, as I can almost guarantee that measuring nearby components and hoping for the best is a worse idea than just powering it up as-is.

If anyone has a Zotac GTX 1080 Mini could they please post a high res pic of the voltage controller near the DVI port because no matter what I do I still can't read it.

Voltage controller has the following text: Line 1: [Illegible] 3J, Line 2: 638. A google search didn't yield much luck. If anyone has any more info or can help me out let me know! Also anyone looking to sell a Zotac GTX 1080 Mini for parts is welcome lol.
