That PSU is pretty good. I think. I haven't powered on my system yet. It's pretty easy to cable manage though.

If you ditch the slow-ass HDD you can upgrade to a 1TB 2.5" SSD. Do that.

For 40 bucks?!

Since this is a budget build for only 450$, I would try to find an old office PC or workstation and upgrade it to the max. You will have comparable performance for cheap. Some companies even throw them away when they upgrade

No, for 80 bucks. Ditch the small, super expensive SSD and the slow, terrible HDD.

And if you spend 90 bucks, you can get a 1TB NVMe drive that is actually way faster than that 860 Evo you picked out. This is what I would do

He's not going to get a lot of office throwaway PCs with comparable performance to a 10100F. That beats a 7700k... Most discarded office PCs are Dell Optiplexes running Ivy Bridge i5s from 2012. He'll save a couple hundred but the performance won't even be in the same league and it'll bottleneck basically anything in any game.

Been there done that and it works, I can play Metro exodus in Triple Screen 5040x1050 -- 48:10 aspect Ratio -- 60+ frames with a humble Nvidia 1060.

Total cost for absolutely everything in the Z400 build = 270$
