Hi!

I just tried to install the Cyberpunk 1.1 patch, but it wont let me. It says "not enough disk space" The SSD its running off of has over 30GB free on it, and the patch is only 5.5GB. However, when I go to Steam download manager, it says something about it being 50GB+....

I even tried moving cyberpunk to my 2TB HDD, but it wont let me move it unless I update the game, which I cant.

Any help is appreciated!

A way around it. Not the best ideas i know. But uninstall the game. Then redownload it but change download locations to your 2tb drive. I did exactlly this to get my destiny 2 on my nvme drive because i was trying to cut loading times. Fyi you will get the updated version when you do this.

Move another game temporarily (or other stuff) so you have enough space to update CP.

If the download says it is going to be 50gb then you might as well delete the game from your ssd and re-download onto your HDD.

Any idea how long this will take? Will it take as long as the first install. I kinda want to be able to use my PC. I have terrible internet (even with ethernet) and I need my computer for work.

The download isn't 50GB, but CP does updates in a very crappy way. Basically it downloads 5GB of patches, applies those patches by making a temp copy of the original files, then replaces the old files with the new ones.

So while the game takes about 63GB after the update it temporarily uses 120GB while applying the update...

That process is gonna take an eternity if you have it on an HDD too.

I don't really have anything on my SSD over 50GB. Biggest thing in Minecraft: Java Edition, which is 1.1GB

Yes another reason to hate CP...

At that point couldn't you just delete the game and reinstall it on the same ssd and it will only download the new version and you will only be using 63gb during download?

Don't know if it does such shenanigans on initial install as well... but OP said they have slow internet anyway
