A mini pc would work best...

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): guys! I am stumped from reading so many forums and answers going every other direction, Im tight on space and need a dedicated gaming pc that can stream (on twitch) I stream at 1600x900. A mini pc would be great because of the form factor but are they strong enough? I've looked at minis forum ryzen pc but minis wants me to use their most expensive pc and idk if they're just trying to sell or that's what I need... Because at 900 dollars for a mini pc I'm sure I could build a cheaper micro atx or mini itx.. Someone help, also I don't have enough room for a desk so check out my cart

Are you adding a mini PC to your current setup or replacing your PC with a smaller PC that is also better at streaming?

 

Dedicated streaming PCs are not a good solution anyway, not when stuff like this exists

Adding, sorry I didn't clarify.. What I had read was that these mini pc use a different version of cpu that are not powerful enough is thus true? I'm gaming from the pc yoy see in the Pic and adding a mini pc (maybe) as dedicated stream pc.. I guess I need help finding one that will run the stream

Why not stream form the computer? What are the specs? A dedicated streaming pc is normally never needed and only makes things harder on yourself to do. Legit if you have a recent gpu you can just use that as the encoder and call it a day. Or if you have a good enough cpu you can even just use that. Dedicated streaming pcs are not needed only for very very rare cases.

Okay, thank you for the info I have streamed from it but it's a little of a older system i7 4770k and a 1070ti I recently got.. However I don't like the frame rate drop I get. So I was thinking a cheap dedicated pc no gpu using x264 encoding would be cheaper than upgrading my current??

No it would be more expensive than upgrading. What games have the issue?

 

The only way to make it cheaper would be to get a cheap office dell that is good enough and a capture card that allows pass through and the desired fps and resolution. Not a great setup for gaming at all btw. So an upgrade would be the smartest.

What are you currently using to encode the stream? Gpu or cpu? If cpu try the gpu and see. Warzone is really cpu intensive but first get msi afterburner and use the overlays to see gpu and cpu usage (cpu by core) to see which is at max and thus being the limiting factor during the drops.

So I actually have, and they're both maxed out using gpu for encoding..

You could try to aim for a ryzen 9 3900 and stream from that or a 3060ti and sell your current card. If both are maxed out it sucks. Try having nothing open but the game and streaming software.

Probably. Again you didn't specify the resolution and framerate you play at. With a capture card in your budget you will experience more delay during gaming and it won't be as good.

Stated in op stream at 1600x900 and I play at 1080.. With that gpu being 600 alone I'd have to upgrade motherboard and cpu still no shot its cheaper

Gpu allows full no problem streaming on the gpu alone. You can try the mini pc but you need a good capture card first so the normal mini pcs won't work as internal cards are the best and a lot are on ebay for cheap that used to be extremely high end. Paired with a i5 dell it should work ok ish.
