LED VA screen burn-in alert: AOC CU34G2. How is this even possible??

alexthealex

I've got a new monitor about 2 months ago and to my surprise I am already getting burn in. I find this very odd as it is a VA panel and I only run it at 80% brightness about 16h/day.

Non the less here it is.

P.S it looks way worse in the picture as it does IRL, because I deliberately put on a dark grey background to show it off. So far it is almost completely unnoticeable with normal operation even in full-screen, but with the right shade of grey you can already see the windows logo and a very slight toolbar line, so I hope it doesn't start to suck a few years down the line...

For now I have set up the "Ribbons" screensaver to hopefully mitigate further burn in to a small degree.

What the f*ck...

2 MONTHS!? How much did you pay @a0l0e0x000???

I paid 415 € ($503).

This shouldn't happen even if I had it on 24/7 because it's VA and as far as I know VA doesn't typically suffer from burn in at all... So this is really weird. And I tried 2h widescreen which didn't fix it so it really seems to be permanent.
